Flesh Arranges Itself Differently

This co-edited book accompanied the exhibition Flesh Arranges Itself Differently, a unique collaboration between The Hunterian and the David and Indrė Roberts Collection.

Co-curated with the Roberts Institute of Art (which manages the David and Indrė Roberts Collection), the exhibition ran at the Hunterian Art Gallery from January to May 2022. It explored the varied ways in which artists have evoked bodily experiences, often in response to the impacts of technology, spirituality or mortality.

The book features extensive photographic documentation of the exhibition and includes newly commissioned responses by writers Kharaini Barokka, Naomi Pearce, and Sophie Seita, as well as a lead essay by the exhibition curators, Dominic Paterson and Ned McConnell.
