What do we do?

GU Heritage Retail Ltd is the University of Glasgow’s retail company. The GUHRL team runs the University Gift Shop, the Hunterian Art Gallery Shop, and the University’s online shop. We also supply University departments with branded merchandise. The company has a turnover in excess of £1 million annually, with all profit donated to the University.

The GUHRL team usually numbers around 20 full and part-time members of staff, depending on the time of year. Our busiest periods are the winter and summer graduations (November/December and June/July). Other peak times include Freshers Week and the start of the academic year in September, the run-up to Christmas, and various open days, special events and conferences that take place on campus throughout the year.

What could you be doing?

We recruit across different aspects of the business on an ad-hoc basis, according to our evolving requirements - from shop floor to e-commerce to stock management and beyond. We're still growing, so we've got lots of plans and ideas for the future.
