University Tartan Plaque

Have a beautiful token of the University of Glasgow with this handmade, wooden plaque. With the University's tartan and incorporating Glasgow's iconic coat of arms in the centre, it makes the perfect gift for graduates, alumni or as a leaving gift from the University.

The University of Glasgow coat of arms depicts the legend of St. Kentigern, or St. Mungo, who founded the City of Glasgow around the year 550CE. Alongside the oak tree, robin, salmon and bell from the legend the crest includes the Book of Learning and the University Mace, made in France in 1465 and still used in University ceremonies today. The Latin motto means 'The Way, the Truth, the Life.'. Find out more about our coast of arms here.

The back has a keyhole slot for mounting on the wall.
