The lion rampant is a traditional heraldic animal of Scotland and features on the traditional Scottish Royal Standard, still flown today.
The lion can be found around the University, most notably on the lion and unicorn staircase beside the chapel. This staircase was originally part of the the 17th-century Old College and was taken stone-by-stone to the new building as work was completed in 1870.

These beautiful tree decorations are handmade in Thailand and India according to Fair Trade principles. Many of them feature the traditional Indian technique of zardozi embroidery. The manufacturer, St. Nicolas, is a member of the British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers.

Please note that these decorations are handmade and thus may appear slightly different to the displayed image.
