University Tartan Plaque
This wooden plaque in a dark or light wood finish is a beautiful way to mark a graduation or remember your time at the University, with the U of G crest centered on a background of the official tartan.
The University's crest depicts the four miracles from the legend of St. Mungo (also known as St. Kentigern), who founded the city of Glasgow around the year 550 CE. St. Mungo's miracles are represented by the bird, the tree, the fish and the bell, while the Book of Learning and the ceremonial mace are symbols of the University itself. The crest is completed by the motto 'Via Veritas Vita' (translating as 'the way, the truth, the life'). Find out more about our coast of arms here.
