Scottish Thistle Decoration
The thistle has been a national emblem of Scotland since the time of King Alexander III (1249-1286). Different varieties of these prickly princes grow wild all over the country. See if you can spot one near you!
These decorations are handmade in Thailand and India according to Fair Trade principles, featuring the traditional Indian technique of zardozi embroidery. The manufacturer, St. Nicolas, is a member of the British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers.
