University Face Covering

This one-size-fits-all face covering is made from two layers of 100% cotton and is discretely marked with the University crest on one side. It is soft, breathable and comfortable, with elasticated loops to fit behind your ears. 

The University face coverings were carefully sourced from a Scottish company called Earth Squared using their fairtrade partner factory in Vietnam. In normal times Earth Squared make scarves, bags, purses and other items for Scottish gift shops but rapidly began producing masks in February of 2020.

The University's order helped to secure the jobs of the women in the production facility in Hanoi in what were otherwise very uncertain times.  You can read more about the factory here (link opens in new window).

These face coverings meet Scottish Government guidelines for general use e.g. in shops, offices, public transport, etcetera, but are not a suitable replacement for PPE in clinical, lab or public health settings.
