Replacement Degree Parchment
Please read all information below before placing your order:
If your degree parchment has been lost, stolen, or damaged, and you graduated during or after the academic year 1988/89, you are eligible to obtain a replacement parchment.
Please only place an order if you have already graduated. If you have yet to formally graduate, you are not eligible to obtain a replacement certificate.
Please note that Catholic Teaching Certificates (CTCs) cannot be replaced via this service. Please contact the School of Education directly for enquiries regarding these.
Please read the information below before placing your order:
- Replacement parchments are processed and dispatched by the University Registry. Please allow 10-14 working days for your order to be completed.
- Replacement parchments cost £50 inclusive of VAT. VAT does not apply on overseas orders (although local customs taxes may be payable when your certificate reaches the destination country).
- Your replacement parchment will be sent to the address you provide during the purchasing process. Parchments are not available for collection in store and can only be issued in hard copy.
- A maximum of 1 replacement parchment can be ordered per qualification.
- On October 21, 2019 the University introduced a new A4 design for all degree parchments, diplomas, and certificates. Consequently, A3-sized degree parchments are no longer issued. All documents issued since this date adhere to the new A4 format.
- Please note that parchments are not eligible for any discounts or special offers.
Student ID number
Your student ID number is required in order to identify your academic record (your ID is the 7-digit number you are assigned when you matriculate). If you can't remember your ID number, don't worry. Simply contact the Registry before placing your order to request assistance with recovering your ID number. You can do this via their Former Student enquiry form below:
Certifying Letters
If you do not wish to purchase a replacement parchment, or you graduated before the academic year 1988/89, you can request a Certifying Letter confirming your awarded degree from the Student Services Enquiry Team.
A standard certifying letter confirms your personal information, programme information and tuition fees. You can use it to confirm your status as a registered student, or for proof of address. This letter can be used to support your applications for employment or further studies. Please visit the Student Services webpages for more information, or use the Document Request form via the links below:
Pre 1988/89 Graduates
The Registry cannot replace parchments for degrees before 1989. For those who graduated before the 1988/89 academic session and require confirmation of their degree, we recommend applying for a Certifying Letter from the Student Services Enquiry Team.
