This print was commissioned in 2018 in response to The Hunterian's exhibition Still Moving: the films and photographs of Ulrike Ottinger. Edinburgh-based artist Stephanie Mann was invited by a group of students from the Masters in Curatorial Practice (Contemporary Art) programme to develop a work taking Ottinger's practice as a point of reference. She used photographs of Hunterian collection items related to Ottinger's work and combined these in a precariously balanced arrangement which reveals how varied the collection is, and how it lays claim to objects from many different cultural traditions.
60% of the proceeds from sales of this work will be donated by the artist to the Trussell Trust, a charity which provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.
