Scottish Stag Decoration
“It was a stag, a stag of ten,
Bearing its branches sturdily;
He came silently down the glen,
Ever sing hardily, hardily.” - Sir Walter Scott
An excellent depiction of vitality and grace, authority and freedom, the stag has long had a close connection to Scotland. Featured in many clan crests, it is an image as synonymous with the nation as Irn Bru, tartan and the Loch Ness Monster.
These beautiful tree decorations are handmade in Thailand and India according to Fair Trade principles. Many of them feature the traditional Indian technique of zardozi embroidery. The manufacturer, St. Nicolas, is a member of the British Association of Fair Trade Suppliers.
