Replacement Degree Parchment

Please only place an order if you have already graduated. If you have yet to graduate, you are not eligible to obtain a replacement certificate.

If your degree parchment has been lost, stolen, or damaged, and you graduated during or after the academic year 1988/89, you are eligible to obtain a replacement parchment.

If you graduated before academic year 1988/89 and require confirmation of your degree, please contact the Student Services Enquiry Team to apply for a certifying letter. 

Please note: Catholic Teaching Certificates (CTCs) are not issued by Registry and therefore cannot be replaced via the replacement parchment service. For queries regarding CTCs please contact the School of Education directly.

On October 21, 2019 the University introduced a new A4 design for all degree parchments, diplomas, and certificates. Consequently, A3-sized degree parchments are no longer issued. All documents issued since this date adhere to the new A4 format.


Replacement degree parchments are arranged and dispatched by the University Registry. Once you order your replacement online, we'll pass the details on to the Registry for you. They will send your parchment directly to your address.

Degree parchments are not available for collection from the shop. Please ensure you provide a full delivery address. If you are purchasing other items to collect from the Gift Shop within the same order, please leave us a note at the checkout to let us know the delivery address for your parchment.

Please allow 10-14 working days after your order is placed for your parchment to be dispatched. Turnaround times may be slightly longer during graduations. We will let you know when your order has been passed to the Registry, and they will notify you directly when your parchment has been dispatched.

Your student ID number is required in order to identify your record (your ID is the 7-digit number you are assigned when you matriculate). If you can't remember your ID number, don't worry - simply contact the Registry directly at graduation@glasgow.ac.uk and they can take you through some security questions to recover it before placing your order.

Parchments are not eligible for any discounts or special offers. Please note you can order a maximum of 1 replacement parchment.
