Handpainted Wooden University Crest

£ 59.99

**Currently on order and being handpainted ready for graduations**

Individually painted by hand, each wooden crest is crafted in Perthshire by a small company who have been making royal warrants, coats of arms and heraldic crests for over sixty years.

The University of Glasgow coat of arms depicts the legend of St. Kentigern, or St. Mungo, who founded the City of Glasgow around the year 550CE. Alongside the oak tree, robin, salmon and bell from the legend the crest includes the Book of Learning and the University Mace, made in France in 1465 and still used in University ceremonies today. The Latin motto means ?The Way, the Truth, the Life.'

The base backing is a sustainably-sourced mahogany faced MDF.
