Glasgow meets the royal game in this chess set designed by Alex and Michael, two enterprising University of Glasgow graduates. 

Each piece is designed on CAD and 3D printed with plant based materials. The set comes with a brochure describing the pieces and their historic relationship to the city. A protective foam insert inside the box helps to keep the set safe.

The pieces are:

  • King: University of Glasgow tower
  • Queen: Tolbooth Steeple
  • Knight: Duke of Wellington statue
  • Bishop: Riverside Museum
  • Rook: Finnieston Crane
  • Pawn: SEC Armadillo
