Thinking of ordering in time for the festive season? Here's everything you need to know!
The dates below have been set to take into account guidelines provided by our carriers as well as University service closures ahead of the holidays.
We are no longer processing new orders for dispatch or collection before Christmas. Any orders placed now will be processed when we reopen from the 6th of January.
Please be aware that we cannot guarantee delivery in time for Christmas for any orders already dispatched.
📢 UK Postal Strike - dispatch and delivery delays
Orders for standard UK delivery will be affected by postal service strikes taking place on Wednesday 30 November, Thursday 1 December, Friday 9 December, Sunday 11 December, Wednesday 14 December and Thursday 15 December. This is placing additional strain on the postal system in the run-up to the holidays and is causing substantial delays which are out of our control.
We will continue to process orders on strike days, but no Royal Mail parcels will be dispatched and may take significantly longer to be delivered once we send them out. If your order is time-sensitive, we suggest choosing tracked courier as your delivery option at the checkout.
🎁 Order Deadlines for UK Christmas Dispatch:
Orders for UK delivery (excluding bespoke items) placed before 12 noon on Thursday 15th December will be sent before Christmas. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee delivery in time for Christmas Day.
All orders not dispatched before we close on Thursday 22nd December will be dispatched when we reopen in January.
🌍 Order Deadlines for International Christmas Dispatch:
Orders for international delivery (excluding bespoke items) placed before 12 noon on Thursday 15th December will be dispatched before Christmas. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee delivery in time for Christmas Day.
All orders not dispatched before we close on Thursday 22nd December will be dispatched when we reopen in January.
🛒 Order Deadlines for Collect from Shop:
Orders for in-store collection (excluding bespoke items) placed before 12 noon on Tuesday 20th December will be processed before Christmas. We will be open for order collection until 4pm on Thursday 22nd December. Please wait to receive a ready-for-pickup message before coming to collect your order.
Orders placed after 12 noon on Tuesday 20th December will be processed when we reopen from the 6th of January.
🌈 Bespoke and special items
The following items are specially made to order and can take several weeks to process, produce and send.

- Class of 2022 Varsity Hoodies
- Personalised Tartan Plaques
- Bespoke Rings
We cannot guarantee that orders for any of these items placed in December will be dispatched or delivered before Christmas. In most cases, bespoke orders placed in December will be dispatched in the New Year.

🎅 Shops on Campus - Festive Opening Times:
Gift Shop: The Gift Shop in the Gilbert Scott building will be closed from 5pm on Thursday 22nd December and will reopen at 10am on Friday 6th January.
Hunterian Art Gallery Shop: The Hunterian Art Gallery shop will be closed from 5pm on Thursday 22nd December and will reopen at 10am on Friday 6th January.
Online Shop: The online shop will be open throughout the holiday period but will not be staffed. Orders placed during the holiday will be processed and dispatched as soon as possible after our web team returns to work on Friday 6th January.
