Charles Rennie Mackintosh in France

Reprinted edition of this much sought-after book, first produced by the National Galleries of Scotland in collaboration with the Hunterian Art Gallery in 2005.

Towards the end of his life Charles Rennie Mackintosh moved to the south of France where he devoted himself to painting in watercolour. This book records Mackintosh's time in France and explores his career as a landscape painter, placing his paintings in the xontext of the modern movement. All the works Mackintosh is known to have completed in France are illustrated and are accompanied by photographs of the places he painted as well as extracts from his letters.
