Ballpoint pen, featuring the signature of Adam Smith, presented in a black gift box.

Born in Kirkcaldy in 1723, Smith studied at the University of Glasgow from the age of 14. He later became Professor of Logic and Professor of Moral Philosophy, publishing his first major work The Theory of Moral Sentiments in 1759. He later remembered his time at Glasgow as "the most useful and therefore by far the happiest and most honourable period of my life.” Remembered as the father of modern economics, his work remains highly relevant to our world today.
